Summary: Hannah Overton is a 31 year old mother of five who was wrongfully convicted of capital murder by omission in the death of Andrew Burd, the four year old boy she and her husband were adopting. Andrew died from hypernatremia – too much sodium in the blood.

The Overtons treated him at home for an hour and a half, unaware of what was wrong, until his symptoms worsened and they drove him to the nearest urgent care clinic. Oral arguments in her first appeal are scheduled for Nov 6 at the 13th Court of Appeals in Corpus Christi, TX.
